The Revenge of the Honest Ulsterman

1016956_199522523541530_1091632604_n This Sunday (4th of August) from 8-11pm I’ll be hosting The Honest Ulsterman evening concert at the Verbal Arts Centre, Derry (as part of Storyfest: If Walls Could Listen). It will feature readings and performances from the novelist Peter Murphy (John the Revelator, Shall We Gather at the River), the acclaimed storyteller Clare Murphy and the poet Paul Grattan (The End of Napoleon’s Nose, Daytime Astronomy) alongside a variety of musical acts. The aim is to showcase storytelling in its various forms and reflect the plurality of voices we’ll be seeking in our publication. It’s free in, bring your own bottle and all are welcome. It’s also the beginning of a process of relaunching the literary magazine, which I’ll be involved in, and should be an entertaining night of culture and craic. I’ll no doubt talk about the magazine, its legacy and our aims for it as it develops but for those interested you can follow us on Twitter for all things literary. Here are two of the performers we have lined up, enjoy:
